There are a lot of data points that need to be collected, verified, and entered to get a full-scope picture of your operation for analytics purposes. To collect data efficiently, it’s important to first have a good plan, keep notes as you go, collect in a timely manner, and verify that data matches what happened.

I believe the answer is because we are comfortable with where we are. In our comfort zone, we know exactly what to expect day in and day out, but in our desire to be comfortable, we remain exactly the same. If we don’t continue to learn and apply our new learned knowledge, how will we get better?
As you are gearing up for harvest, there is a nervous excitement. You are about to get your final grade for 2019. How did you do? Did you make money? Did your decisions for the year pay off? These questions may give you pause, how do you measure such a thing? Is it the check that comes in the mail from the elevator? Is it the number that comes across the combine monitor? Is it, if your harvest map is green instead of red?
