And I think that's the theme for this podcast: it isn't easy to plan ahead for some of these things. For you to be successful, it isn't easy, and it takes some time. With all that being said, Dan, what are some of the key principles here to plan effectively, prior to purchasing products and prior to getting into the production cycle?  [Read More](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/the-benefits-of-a-farm-plan) 0 Comments [Click here to read/write comments](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/the-benefits-of-a-farm-plan#comments-listing) Topics: [farm analytics](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/tag/farm-analytics) ## [You Can't Manage What You Don't Measure](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/you-cant-manage-what-you-dont-measure-1) Posted by [Dan Frieberg](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/author/dan-frieberg) on 7/23/20 8:15 AM - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) [![](https://info.premiercrop.com/hubfs/yieldefficiencygrowervsgroup.png)](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/you-cant-manage-what-you-dont-measure-1)   [Read More](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/you-cant-manage-what-you-dont-measure-1) 0 Comments [Click here to read/write comments](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/you-cant-manage-what-you-dont-measure-1#comments-listing) Topics: [yield efficiency](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/tag/yield-efficiency) ## [Leveraging Big Data](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/leveraging-big-data) Posted by [Dan Frieberg](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/author/dan-frieberg) on 7/14/20 1:35 PM - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) [![](https://info.premiercrop.com/hubfs/premiercrop_bigdata.jpg)](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/leveraging-big-data) ***In our latest Premier Podcast: "The more data you get,** **the more it lets you break it apart into more meaningful insights." - Dan Frieberg*** [Read More](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/leveraging-big-data) 0 Comments [Click here to read/write comments](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/leveraging-big-data#comments-listing) Topics: [Big Data](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/tag/big-data) ## [Change and Innovation in the Middle of a Crisis](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/change-and-innovation-in-the-middle-of-a-crisis) Posted by [Dan Frieberg](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/author/dan-frieberg) on 6/30/20 8:15 AM - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) [![](https://info.premiercrop.com/hubfs/innovationinthemiddleofcrisis.jpg)](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/change-and-innovation-in-the-middle-of-a-crisis) *Darren Fehr and Dan Frieberg talk about how change and innovation can be created through a crisis in our latest podcast.* [Read More](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/change-and-innovation-in-the-middle-of-a-crisis) 0 Comments [Click here to read/write comments](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/change-and-innovation-in-the-middle-of-a-crisis#comments-listing) Topics: [economics](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/tag/economics) ## [The value of precision ag during tight economic times](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/the-value-of-precision-ag-during-tight-economic-times) Posted by [Dan Frieberg](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/author/dan-frieberg) on 4/16/20 8:15 AM - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) [![](https://info.premiercrop.com/hubfs/learnfromyourfield.png)](https://info.premiercrop.com/blog/the-value-of-precision-ag-during-tight-economic-times) ***"At the end of the day, one of the things I hope comes out of this, is a new appreciation for what agriculture does, and what the food industry and all of us are about, just the totality of what agriculture does for the American consumer and for the world."*** ***- Dan Frieberg*** In this Premier Podcast, where everything agronomic is economic. There are many big-data analytics examples cited, such as Amazon and Netflix. They suggest books and movies we may enjoy based on what we have “liked” in the past or what other people who seem similar to us like. Google, the National Security Agency and others evidentially collect data bout what we search, what and whom we email, and much more. We needed something visual on a display, changing as growers moved across their fields to get their attention. Something cool. It’s a special challenge, as we are a company full of geeks! Even though we hire a lot of “normal” people, within a year we typically convert them into farming geeks/nerds. They still look normal, but they aren’t. I describe what we do as the collision of agronomy and technology. It’s the technology side that leads us to becoming geeks. Growers can confidentially and anonymously share their field data with other growers in their region though written data-sharing agreements. Group data analysis compliments field- and grower- level analysis; growers receive actionable field intelligence they can use on their own fields.
